Hospitals to test safety of new drugs for infectious disease

Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals and Johns Hopkins University have each received a $5.5 million, seven-year drug-testing contract with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Each facility will participate in a Phase I study to test the safety of new drugs aimed at emerging and drug-resistant infectious diseases.
