Massachusetts lawmakers pass $1.4B transportation bond bill

Massachusetts state legislators have approved a $1.4 billion transportation bond bill that will allocate funds for projects designed to limit highway noise, reduce traffic congestion and improve road and pedestrian safety. Gov. Deval L. Patrick still has to sign the bill, however, and he has the power to drop some individual projects through a line-item veto.
