Oregon city to use computer models to guide development

Three-dimensional development models will help planners in Astoria, Ore., create a land-use program. The Ford Foundation provided a $40,000 grant to create the three-dimensional computer model. Student interns are now measuring buildings in downtown Astoria so that their dimensions can be incorporated into the model. A CAD program will be used to convert the actual dimensions into 3-D computerized models.
