Supreme Court asked to consider legality of Arizona employment law

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants the Supreme Court to overturn an Arizona law that punishes employers found guilty of hiring workers who are in the U.S. illegally. The group also hopes that the court determines that Arizona cannot force companies to use the E-Verify system to determine workers' legal status. A federal appellate court ruled that the state statute was legal, and Arizona officials have said they will continue to defend the law.
