Ala. launches mobile app to raise public health awareness

A mobile application has been unveiled by the Alabama Department of Public Health to enhance distribution of health information to residents. The app, which can be downloaded for free from iTunes or Google Play, also informs the public health community about continuing education opportunities. "We're hoping it could be a tool to use in case of an emergency or a disaster to get information out to the public," said Jennifer Sumner, director of the department's digital media branch.
