AMD offers low-power G-series SoC for digital signs, other apps

Advanced Micro Devices introduced the dual-core GX-210JA processor, which operates at 1 gigahertz but typically needs only 3 watts of power. The system-on-a-chip device is not meant for PCs, which is AMD's biggest market, but for applications in automation systems, digital signage, media players, medical imaging and thin-client systems.
