Ark. teacher returns from Mount Vernon workshop with lesson ideas, enthusiasm

Jill Sanders, a social studies teacher from Arkansas, was among 20 teachers from across the country who participated this summer in the George Washington Teachers Institute at Mount Vernon in Virginia. Teachers spent time learning about how to blend history into other subjects and developing lesson plans about Washington and his home that they can submit to the institute for review. "It was like having the opportunity to step back into history," Sanders said.
