Big Oil's anti-RFS campaign is rife with half-truths

The oil industry is resorting to "misinformation and half-truths" in its ad campaign aimed at eliminating the Renewable Fuel Standard, write Scott Lonier and Mark Kies, president of the Michigan Corn Growers Association and president of the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan, respectively. Big Oil's claims that ethanol is driving up food costs and causing engine trouble have been disproved time and again by experts, Lonier and Kies state. Big Oil wants to get rid of the RFS because the standard threatens its dominance of the fuel market, Lonier and Kies write.
