Can video games effectively gauge learning?

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison say that video games will play an increasingly prominent role in teaching, learning and testing in the future. The goal of the study is to determine whether students could play video games to gauge their understanding in real time, and whether games can provide benefits, such as helping regulate self-control and empathy.
