Consumption of two cups of hot chocolate every day for a month was linked with an 8% improvement in blood flow to the brain among older people with impaired blood vessel functioning who performed poorly in cognitive tests, a study found. Researchers noted that the times of seniors who drank cocoa regularly were roughly one minute faster on a cognitive test. No differences were seen between groups who drank high-flavanol and low-flavanol cocoas. The findings were published in the journal Neurology.
