Environmental efforts help cleaning-product producers go greener, report says

According to American Cleaning Institute's 2013 Sustainability Report, member companies have lowered energy use, greenhouse-gas emissions, water use and solid-waste generation from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, the industry's footprint in all of those areas was down compared with 2009 as energy use declined 9%, greenhouse-gas emissions went down 7%, water use decreased 5% and solid-waste generation declined by 17%. From 2010 to 2011, greenhouse-gas emissions went down 12%.
