Ethanol standard can save India at least $1.3B in foreign expenditures, group says

Implementation of India's 5% ethanol standard would save the nation at least $1.3 billion in foreign exchange in the 2013-2014 fiscal year by reducing oil imports, according to the Indian Sugar Mills Association. The savings from the ethanol standard would be vital because oil makes up the biggest slice of India's total import bill, an analyst said.
