Experts say ACOs could carry pricing clout

Accountable care organizations, which foster cooperation among health care providers, could hinder health insurers' cost-control efforts by giving providers more market clout, according to a group of experts in health law and economics. The Affordable Care Act provides some safeguards against anti-competitive practices, but the experts write in the journal Health Affairs that more protections are needed.
