FDA announces proposed medical device user fees for FY 2014

The FDA has issued a proposal setting the medical device user fees for fiscal year 2014. The proposal calls for across-the-board increases of 4.2%, which would apply to premarket approval, 510(k) clearance and other regulatory applications. The new fees will take effect Oct. 1 and would yield about $115 million for the FDA, the agency said in a notice.
