High-end NYC eateries get creative with fries

Upscale Manhattan eateries including Balthazar, Bryant Park Grill, Hudson Common and Fred's at Barneys are finding success with gourmet French fries that can sell for several times the price of plain quickservice fries. "If you're in a midtown restaurant and you're charging real money for French fries, there's got to really be a difference, whether it be duck fat or fresh herbs or truffle salt," said restaurant consultant Clark Wolf.
