Many small-business owners have a tough time finding job candidates with the right qualifications because they lack the hefty budgets and name recognition of larger companies, according to research from the staffing firm Robert Half. But small companies can compete by "highlighting what makes their cultures unique and emphasizing opportunities for skills development," said Paul McDonald, senior executive director at Robert Half.
