Medical group recommends ways to boost breast-feeding

A multidisciplinary protocol involving practitioners, hospitals, family members, and child care providers could help improve breast-feeding initiation and continuation, particularly among underserved women and children, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists said. In the Committee Opinion published in the journal Obstetrics & Gynecology, the group recommended that women receive breast-feeding counseling during prenatal care and that providers be knowledgeable about community resources.
