Older Americans embrace social media

Social networking is only getting stronger, according to a Pew Research Center report, with almost three-quarters of adult Web users in the U.S. now active on social media sites. That's up from 64% in 2005, thanks in part to a surge in the number of elderly people using social tools. "Those ages 65 and older have roughly tripled their presence on social networking sites in the last four years -- from 13 percent in the spring of 2009 to 43% now," the report says.
