Report: Canada's retailers to see 4% jump in BTS spending

Canada's consumers are forecast to spend 4% more on back-to-school shopping this year, with shoppers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador leading the way, according to Ernst & Young. "While back-to-school items have always been considered essentials, positive economic indicators and increased consumer confidence are driving parents to not only get their children what they need, but also what they want for going back to school," said EY partner Daniel Baer.
