SEC examines S&P's actions in 2011 CMBS deal, sources say

The Securities and Exchange Commission is looking into how Standard & Poor's came about its rating of a commercial-mortgage bond in 2011 that it later withdrew, thereby killing the deal after it had been placed with investors, sources say. An S&P spokesman says the company stands by methodology used at the time.
