Study finds providers implement about half of USPSTF guidelines

New York University researchers report in the Annals of Internal Medicine that health care professionals implement only about half of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force's 60 recommendations for clinical services and screening, probably because there is not enough personalization or prioritization in the clinical setting. The team also evaluated 25 clinical services and screening recommendations for nonpregnant adults and created a flex-model that ranks them based on gains in life expectancy. They said EHRs could help with customization of screening and recommendations.
