TextNow, FreedomPop expand services via Sprint network

A pair of Sprint-based mobile virtual network operators introduced new services on Tuesday. FreedomPop began supporting Sprint's new Long-Term Evolution network with the development of the $149 Freedom Spot MiFi 5580 hot spot that allows up to 10 devices to hook up to the network. TextNow, a messaging and calling application, has reportedly created the first IP-based voice service in the U.S. by offering a $19 package that includes 750 minutes, unlimited texts and 500 megabytes of data a month.
