UPS pilots 3D printing in 6 stores

UPS is piloting 3D printing in six stores in the U.S. and will allow customers to use its uPrint machines to print out designs as objects -- or even a spare part they need for something. The pilot's aim is to evaluate actual interest in the technology, which "has the potential to turn manufacturing supply chains on their head," says Anthony Vicari of Lux Research.
