Dean Foods hit by high milk prices

Dean Foods' second-quarter performance seriously was affected by rising milk prices, a warning to other dairy-dependent businesses, Forbes reports. "Our results are reflective of the unusually volatile and difficult environment we are operating in this year," CEO Gregg Engles said. "Raw milk prices have increased steadily through the first half of the year and have recently hit all-time highs."
