Scientists develop protein-based blood test for liver cancer

International scientists say they developed a simple blood test tied to cancer-based proteins to detect early-stage liver cancer. The new test, which detects changes in sugars attached to proteins associated with liver cancer, is more sensitive than previous tests and can detect the cancer's growth stage and tumor size.
