First patient studies show advantages of SPECT/CT mammography

In an update to a story covered in the July 30 issue of SNM SmartBrief on SPECT/CT mammography, AuntMinnie.com reports that the first patient studies at Duke University demonstrated that the hybrid system's 3-D capability provides better images than a traditional mammogram, even at 25% lower dose. The hybrid system has been designed so that patients are positioned more comfortably during examination.
