N.C. virtual school redefines learning for thousands of students

The nearly 13,000 students enrolled in North Carolina's online school can get a head start on college or retake classes they struggled with in traditional classrooms. "A student's address does not determine a student's access," said North Carolina Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson. "This is just one step in the progression of redefining the place called school."
