Ethanol sector is urged to work with other alternative fuels

Anne Korin, a speaker at the Ethanol Conference and Trade Show in Kansas City, Mo., called on the ethanol sector to join forces with other alternative-fuel groups to push for flexible-fuel vehicles that can also run on methanol or biodiesel in addition to gasoline or ethanol. The additional fuel choices would increase support in Congress for such vehicles, Korin argued. Meanwhile, Marc Rauch, executive vice president of The Auto Channel, issued a warning in his speech Thursday about the oil industry's tactic of driving a wedge between alternative-fuel groups to hinder the growth of ethanol.
