Teachers are hopeful about effects of federal jobs bill

Many out-of-work educators across the country are hopeful that the U.S. Senate's passage Thursday of a $10 billion federal aid package to help avert teacher layoffs will mean they get their jobs back. "My biggest thing is I want to go back to the school I was at for the students," one recently laid-off Ohio teacher said, "We're in a high-poverty school, and one thing the students need more than anything else is consistency. And they're not going to get that."
