Ga. district moves toward eliminating traditional textbooks

Gwinnett County Public Schools in Georgia will test having math, science and foreign-language teachers at six schools use content clouds this year, with an eye toward using the technology systemwide in the future. The long-term goal could be doing away with physical textbooks completely, saving the district money and making students more digitally savvy. "If we didn't move ahead with this ... we'd be left behind," said Louise Radloff, vice chairman of the school board.
