Special educator encourages community, humor in schools

Long-time special-education teacher and principal Dale Metz was among the educators who helped to kick off the school year in Mount Airy, N.C. Metz, who was principal of a school for students with multiple disabilities, reminded educators to include humor in their lessons and encouraged them to consider all school staff as part of the larger educational community. "We are in this together," he said.
