Augmented reality promises much as it comes into its own

Although it may take a few years to fully develop, the world of augmented reality is promising in a number of ways. For one thing, it may render the smartphone a transitional device as eyewear such as that in Google's Project Glass offers users an immediate heads-up to information on the world around them, according to a study by ABI Research. Other promising uses include interactive print, mobile shopping and education.
