House bill would increase medical residency slots

Bipartisan legislation introduced in the House of Representatives would add 15,000 Medicare-sponsored medical residency slots to help reduce a physician shortage that could hit 90,000 by 2020. The Association of American Medical Colleges said the bill would add 4,000 physicians per year.
