Australia's employment numbers worsen

The Australian job market showed signs of deterioration last month, with 10,200 jobs lost and a 0.2% decline in participation, while the jobless rate remained at 5.7%, a four-year high. The situation is likely to worsen in coming months as "tentative improvements in some interest-sensitive sectors won't be enough to absorb growing weakness in mining employment," said Moody's Analytics associate economist Katrina Ell.
