Despite the hand-wringing over online ad rate erosion, top properties such as Facebook, YouTube and Yahoo still command rates as high as $500,000 to $700,000 a day for a home page takeover, and StarGreetz video ads are running $20,000 to $100,000 per month. Twitter is trafficking in exclusivity, selling one Promoted Trend per day for $200,000, and lesser-known sites such as Vice Media pull $75,000 for pushdown ads, writes Tim Peterson.
