FINRA plans to better vet arbitrators

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority says it is strengthening procedures used to vet arbitrators who hear misconduct cases against financial advisers and brokers. The plan comes after a U.S. judge overturned a ruling made by a FINRA arbitrator who failed to disclose that he had been indicted during a case against Goldman Sachs.
