Lenovo to boost retail-store presence in China

Lenovo, which opened its first China retail store in Beijing last year, says it expects to open at least seven more locations by 2016 to boost its share of the smartphone and tablet market. "As we expand our business into smartphones, tablets and smart TV, that requires a lot of storefront to show the products. It's not just a point of sales, it's a place for people to experience the products," said Chen Xudong, president of China operations. In addition, the company announced a Windows 8 convertible tablet, the Miix, which is scheduled to start shipping at the end of the month.
