Lyft hits the 1 million-passenger mark, moves into D.C., Minneapolis

Lyft has carried its 1 millionth passenger a year after opening its mobile application-based car-hailing business, and is moving to new markets including Washington, D.C., a city rival Uber pioneered, Ryan Lawler writes. Lyft already operates in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Boston and San Diego. The business has faced regulatory hurdles in many of the cities and Lyft expects similar resistance in Washington and Minneapolis, another city it's trafficking.
