Superstorm Sandy, which hit the East Coast in October 2012, caused more than $10 million in property damage to the Madelaine Chocolate Co., in Rockaway, Queens, in New York City. The company is now slowly returning to previous capacity. "We have a great sales force and great workers and the chocolate coming off the line is of the quality that we are known for. … I really think we will eventually come back better than before," said Estee Farber, daughter of President and CEO Jorge Farber.
