Pa. districts seek to balance taste, nutrition in school meals

School nutrition professionals in Pennsylvania districts say they are working this year to make meals more appealing to students following some negative reactions last year to new, healthier standards. Quaker Valley School District's food-services director, Jennifer Reiser, said she will serve more homemade pizzas in middle schools this year, while Plum School District's food supervisor, Maryann Lazzaro, said her district will serve spicy popcorn chicken and spicy grilled-chicken sandwiches to high-school students.
