Survey: Millennials are at the intersection of fast food, foodie culture

Members of the millennial generation say eating food with friends and family is a key part of their lifestyle, and nearly half call themselves foodies who Instagram their meals and follow celebrity chefs on Twitter, according to a survey from BBDO Atlanta. In a seemingly contradictory finding, 60% of the self-professed foodies eat quickservice meals at least once a week. "There's so much written on millennials; we just wanted to find the gaps. We looked for a big 'aha,' but the most interesting part, for us, ended up being the contradictions," said director Rich Santiago.
