Trio of struggling Vt. schools must pay for after-school tutoring

Three schools in the South Burlington School District in Vermont will be required to set aside a portion of their Title I funding to pay for tutoring for students because Adequate Yearly Progress benchmarks were not met under No Child Left Behind. Parents soon will be notified that they can hire private tutors using school funding, which previously was used for teachers' professional development and other budget items.
