U.S. authorizes another facility for natural gas export

The Energy Department has approved a third facility to export liquefied natural gas to any country. The department has given the terminal in Lake Charles, La., a permit to export as much as 2 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day for two decades. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission must issue a permit before construction can begin.
