U.S. shale boom's impact spreads overseas

The U.S. shale oil and natural gas boom has an impact outside of the country, writes James Clad, an international political risk consultant. Shale would weaken Russia's grip on Europe's energy market if the shale reserves of Bulgaria, Poland, Romania and Lithuania are developed. The fuel source has also prevented oil price increases from Iran sanctions, Clad adds.
