Kent School District's $18 million technology allotment has helped bring the computer-to-student ratio to 1-to-4 in some schools, a report says. This summer's focus has been on upgrading 40 schools with fiber-optic cables for high-speed Internet access. The district is also using surplus equipment to ensure any student who wants a computer at home can have one.
