Arkansas schools curb vending, soft drinks

The Arkansas state board of education voted Monday to limit student access to vending machines until 30 minutes after the final lunch period in middle and high schools. It also ruled unanimously to limit soft drink sales to 12 ounces, mandate half of vended products "be of sound nutritional value" and require 30 minutes of physical activity for students each day.
