Blog: Grocery segment to spend $9B on IT

Supermarkets expect strong spending on IT services over the next year amid a slate of mergers and acquisitions that require extensive IT backup, a report from the IHL Consulting Group found. The grocery segment is facing growing competition from big-box retailers and is looking to new technologies to improve the performance of a variety of functions, including loyalty programs and point-of-sale hardware.
