CESR quickly draws up plans to reform MiFID

Some trading firms in Europe are noting the speed with which the Committee of European Securities Regulators drafted proposals to overhaul the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. CESR gave stakeholders six weeks to offer feedback after publishing consultation documents in mid-April, then recently published technical advice based on the market feedback. The committee's proposals include expanding MiFID rules to include corporate bonds, asset-backed securities and other nonequity products.
