Colorado districts to boost ESL learning with new funding

Denver and St. Vrain Valley schools in Colorado will receive $25 million and $3.6 million, respectively, in federal funds to improve reading programs for English language learners and children with disabilities. Denver's project, called Collaborative Strategic Reading Colorado, has been used successfully to address students' reading needs. The districts were among 49 finalists out of almost 1,700 applicants.
