Indian banks prep to sell credit default swaps

The Reserve Bank of India will soon allow Indian banks to invest in local corporate bonds without worrying about a default or exceeding borrowing limits. The proposed rules for credit default swaps enable regulated lenders, mutual funds and listed companies to insure themselves against a possible default on the bonds they hold.
